Cleaning step 1
Apply a small dab of Radiance 2000 Fine Jewelry
Metals Tarnish Remover on a soft flannel cotton or
micro-fiber cloth. This natural, nontoxic, one-for-all jewelry cleaner will remove
any tarnish that is covering
up or concealing the original newness shine on the surface of
your platinum, gold, sterling silver or titanium fine jewelry metals. Soon
your jewelry metals will look new again
because this natural ring polisher restores the original sparkling finish to all jewelry
metals.

Cleaning step 2
Rub the shank of the ring onto the jewelry polish. The black tarnish you see
on the cloth is the tarnish that does not come off with ordinary cleaners. Tarnish
from platinum jewelry metals leaves a brown colored residue on the cloth.
There is a significant difference between just a jewelry metals cleaner and
jewelry metal cleaner that cleans and also removes the tarnish.
|
Another
method is to rub the jewelry polish directly on to the ring. You will need to
apply more pressure on platinum rings when you rub it onto the cloth because
platinum is harder and more brittle than gold or silver.
|
Hold
the ring with one hand and use the cloth to polish the smooth surfaces of the
ring with the other hand. Clean any tarnish from the nooks and crannies by
applying cream on the bristles of a new medium tooth brush. (see
below)

Cleaning step 3
This
last method allows you to see how the tarnish rolls off and how the jewelry polisher
cleans and brightens the
jewelry metal. Buff off the tarnish then rinse the ring with warm water.

Cleaning step 4
Rinse
the polished ring in clean warm water before you put it into the Diamonds and
Pearls Jewelry Cleaner. This helps to keep the jewelry cleaner clean. If you
clean over your sink - be sure to plug the sink drain.

Cleaning Step 5
Now
place the rinsed jewelry into the Jewelry cleaner container.
Use the
jewelry brush or use a new soft or medium toothbrush to
clean underneath any
clear gemstones, gemstone settings and
prongs.

Nickel is harmful when placed against the
skin. Jewelers now
add 1 or more coats of rhodium on any yellow gold jewelry that contains nickel.
Rhodium
is a white metal in the platinum family that gives yellow gold ... the crisp appearance of
precious platinum jewelry.
Rhodium
eventually wears off and the
original yellow color
will slowly emerge. Though it will never totally turn back into yellow gold, it is
still recommended to have your gold jewelry rhodium coated every three months to
once a year to maintain it's best color and shine.
Also, under layers of dull tarnish lies the jeweler's original buffed finish and
shine. Keep your precious jewelry metals looking like new by removing the
accumulated tarnish on the finish. Many customers need to have their rings re-plated with rhodium every three to five months.
